Recently, my boyfriend decided that he was going to create an operating system for the computer he is repairing. He asked me to come up with a background for the system. When I asked what he wanted it to look like, he said "simple and intriguing. Hell, it could be lines." For artists, these words are amazing. They mean that we can create what we want with no boundaries.
At first, I was thinking of just reproducing those classic backgrounds. You know, the misty mountains, dark forests, radiant rainbows, etc. And then I started to think- why not try and mix it up a bit and go with the lines idea? I had never worked with linear type drawings- I tend to stick with what I know, and what I know is realistic drawings.
In this piece, I just drew with lines. I did not have a final piece in mind, nor an idea of what to do. I just picked up a pen and began to draw! I think it turned out really well! This piece seems a bit raw to me, but for a first attempt, it looks good.

This is the second linear drawing I created. I wanted to make it transition a make it look different, so I added in circles. In the circles, it merges circles with lines in a kind of abrupt way. I like that I didn't manage to make it transition and it looks layered. I intend to continue to draw this pieces and to work on them. What do you think?
